Why see Anastasia?

Broadway tryout

For many years, the tale of Anastasia, the youngest daughter of Tsar Nicolas II of Russia, was whispered throughout Europe. What if the playful and mischievous Grand Duchess has some how escaped the tragic execution that took her whole family away? What if she survived and made a daring escape? Anastasia, the brand-new musical based on 20th Century Fox's 1997 animated film shows us how things may have ended up for Anna, in a fictional, magical fairytale that plays out against the very real events of the Russian Revolution and beyond.

Directed by Darko Tresnjack (A Gentleman's Guide to Murder), with a book by Terrance Mcnally (It's Only A Play) and score by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (Ragtime), this re-imagination of the lost princess of Russia's story is sure to take you on an enchanting journey as Anastasia discovers the secrets of her past, and who she is.

Anastasia

The narrative, acting, the directing, [the juxtaposition of historical and fantastical scenarios], the magical sets were all fabulous. There was at standing ovation in joyous manner after tonight's performance. There were numerous young people and children and I would definitely recommend taking your children, your wife's or husband's mother. It end as expected for a 7:30PM show late so we just headed back home and tomorrow is a working day. Perhaps if it was not we may have gone to a night spot. I would recommend our seats in the D row 5 right in center of the stage. The view was terrific. The seats were facing the center of the stage. I would recommend people who want to have a great evening to have dinner before the play and return home feeling satisfied and happy. We are deeply grateful to the person who arranged for us to get these particular seats. The volunteers and staff were great to us. I was glad I could take my beverage in and that the coffee was a delicious $2 . Thank you ... Read more
