HONEST AND REVEALING - POWERFUL -

WOW! What an amazing, emotional, heavy, real, stomach turning, (Chris says "honest & revealing) play. The cast was incredible!!! One of the best dance scenes ever! Tears rolling down our faces. (Couch scene.) Minneapolis Orpheum Theatre

EXCEEDED EXPECATIONS

I went to this show not knowing the premise of the storyline at all. I went b/c Alanis was my college anthem and loved the cd from start to finish. The show blew me away, from laughing to crying to cheering to taking a deep breath feeling all the feels. I want to see it again.

AMAZING SHOW

I love Alanis and her music! This production did not disappoint! The cast covered sexual assault, drug addiction and so many pressures faced in today’s society . I had many emotions crying, cheering, dancing and laughing. I thought it was done tastefully. Great talent with singing and choreography! My favorites were You Oughta Know and Uninvited! The Uninvited singing and choreography, was showstopper! Goosebumps, so raw! Highly recommend!

SOME GOOD, SOME BAD

The good: The performances were phenomenal. Both the acting and singing (particularly of the female performers were outstanding. The set designs and graphics were really good as well. The story, while a bit contrived to weave around the songs, was very interesting and kept my attention. It dealt with serious issues in a honest, humorous, respectful and sometimes painful way. The bad: overly woke and overdone agenda (people of color and LGBTQ+ people are heroes, white women are vapid and pretentious, white men are evil and/or clueless, teenagers are brilliant and profound while adults are bumbling idiots)). The choreography was poor and unnecessary. It was confusing, like it wanted to be edgy and gritty and angry, but it ended up looking extremely amateurish, like clumsy people stomping around doing somersaults for no reason (I’m sure the dancers were talented, but the choreography didn’t showcase that at all). As others mentioned, the sound was difficult as well. So loud in some parts my ears literally started ringing.

TRY AGAIN!!!

After looking forward to this play, I was terribly disappointed by depressing dysfunctional attempt at a play! Don't waste your money, go buy the Alanis album! Sorry ☹️

WOKE LITTLE PILL

The sound and singers were not of the level we are used to at a Pantages performance. If I have seen 100 shows, this was 99 because certainly I have seen something worse. Depressing woke story about a dysfunctional white family...not carried out very well. Don't waste your time. Many left early.

COULD HAVE BEEN SO MUCH BETTER

To start with, the acoustics were horrendous...the music was incredibly loud which meant none of our party understood the songs with any clarity...it was just noise. Spoken dialog was fine. Play itself was incredibly disjointed. Positive comments: the dancing/choreography was very entertaining and the sets were incredibly creative and enjoyable to watch.
