Roger Daltrey
Roger did an outstanding show at the Keswick last night. He did some songs from his solo career which I have always wanted to hear him sing. The band was terrific and at the Keswick you never have a bad seat. What a great night!
Roger Daltrey is as great as ever
Covering classics ranging from I Can See For Miles to Athena, Roger looked and sounded great. His back-up band included Pete's soundalike brother Simon Townshend. I initially thought having Simon was a gimmick, but the man is so talented he proved me wrong. The acoustics were excellent for an outdoor venue. Lesser known but stunning songs like Naked Eye and How Many Friends made this a night not to be missed. The only problem was with the venue, which had a lame dinner table arrangement. Food was served while the opening act was playing. Very distracting. Incredibly, some people were eating and yakking loudly while Roger was singing his heart out. If you don't want to be enthralled by live music, please stay at home. There you can eat, play with your cell phone, and talk loudly without annoying real fans. I wish I had gotten less expensive non-table seats where food wasn't served.
Roger Daltrey performs TOMMY with the DSO
Really an incredible show! Great to see Roger with his voice still powerful, and obviously enjoying the experience despite the heat. He was FANTASTIC! Also great to see some of his signature microphone twirling. 7 of us went and it was enjoyed by all. Roger's band and the DSO were also GREAT! The woman who performed the violin solo for Baba O'Riley did justice to this seminal favorite. Words can't express what a wonderful experience it was! Simon was on point - and looks and sounds more like Pete every time I see him! Pleased to see some proceeds going to the Teenage Cancer Trust Fund and the Michigan Shriners. I have seen THE WHO more than any other band, and they all have a lot to be proud of. Their music is as vital today as when it was new. Many thanks to all the performers in this show!
Daltrey + DSO Stir Memories, Create Some New Ones
As a longtime Who fan, this show made me feel like i was seeing an old friend-who is doing better than ever! The voice is well-rested, the passion for performing is still evident, and the mic twirling skills are still there. The core band was tight-although it was hard to not see a Townshend windmill. Tommy performed with the DSO was a total joy for us “lifersâ€, as well as the many kids present, representing the latest wave of Wholigans. Spoiler alert: no harmonica was needed at the end of a favorite!!!
Roger. Totally Amazing
What an amazing show and Roger's voice better than ever. He said this was his vision of Tommy and it was beyond perfect. His band and the orchestra totally nailed it. Breathtaking. A show not to be missed. Rock on Roger!
